Over 150 million luggage bags quickly reaching their destinations

The most significant luggage system in the world at Dubai Airports spans a distance of 150 km and carries more than 150 million bags per year. That bag produces over 200 data points, which are all tracked by Splunk Enterprise to ensure they reach their destination.

Such data is also paired with airport activities data to predict luggage load over the next four hours. Based on the predicted load, Dubai Airport can allocate staff and spin up more carousels accordingly. The planning is more to build on this approach with this technology.
